Family Sessions

My focus for your session is to capture the magic of those in between moments. I will pose you, but then I will ask you to snuggle your toddler, laugh with your spouse, or poke at your teenager. I want to document genuine smiles and true laughter. I want to capture the chaos and beauty in your life.

All sessions are outdoors. They will last about an hour but I don’t stick to an exact time frame. I will walk you through fields of grass, dirt trails, and all sorts of random off the cuff places, so please dress comfortably and take your allergy meds if needed. Plan to play and rile up your kids, and family pets are always welcome. Most my locations are in the Tri-Valley, but I'm happy to travel to other locations (Travel fees may apply)

Group Photos

Group photos are a session designed for the whole family, grandma & grandpa, aunts and uncles etc. This session typically takes an hour and a half, and there are so many series of shots between grandkids with grandbabies, cousins, individual families etc that the session tends to be very posed. For the more candid style that you see in my work, opt for a family only session. But if you want to get the whole family together for a session and get those portrait style photos...then this might be the session for you.  

Maternity

I typically take these photos around 33 weeks, but it really depends on how you feel and how round that belly is. These sessions last about 1-2 hours, typically at two locations. When small children are involved the session will last about an hour, and most likely at one location unless they are up for it. Feel free to bring a couple outfit changes. My favorite look for maternity is a flowy long maternity gown. The more it flows, and the longer it is, the better. Lifestyle Newborn

This session takes place in your home, during the day when the light it best through your windows. The session can take up to 2 hours and includes candid and semi posed shots of your new baby in your home within the first month (the earlier the better). I want to document your new baby in his crib, she big yawn, big brother showing off his toys to little sister, and the whole family lounging in bed. Its best to dedicate a couple rooms to this session such as the master bedroom, living room and babies room. Keep these areas clutter free for the session, with a neutral pallet. Creams, light greys, beige and whites help keep the focus on the family. You should dress comfortably in loose pants, t-shirts and bare feet. Its time to relax and enjoy that first month at home with your new addition.

**This session is not an in studio sleepy baby posed session, but I can refer you to someone who does that if that's what you're looking for.
